How a plumbing repair is priced
The visit and the written quote are free: we see the job first, then price it. Four things make the difference:
Reaching the pipe
pipes in the open are quicker to work on than pipes under floors, behind tiles or boxed in.
The parts
a new washer or valve costs less than a new tap, cistern or run of pipe.
How many fittings
one dripping tap, or several jobs done in the same visit.
Making good
how much ceiling or wall has to be opened up and repaired afterwards.

Questions about plumbing repairs
Call 020 8249 7303
How much does a plumber charge?
It depends on the job: how easy the pipework is to reach, the parts, how many fittings are involved and how much ceiling or wall has to be repaired afterwards (making good). We don't charge for the visit, and you get the price in writing before any work starts.
Do you take on emergency or same-day plumbing?
No. We plan each repair after a free visit, so we don't offer emergency or same-day call-outs. If water is escaping, turn it off at the stop tap, which Thames Water says is usually under the kitchen sink; once it has stopped, we can repair the pipe and the ceiling or wall it marked.
Can you put right a ceiling a pipe leak has stained?
Yes. Once the leak is fixed and the ceiling has dried out, our own team repairs the plaster and repaints it, so you don't need to book a separate plasterer or decorator.
Do you work in flats as well as houses?
Yes. We repair toilets, taps, sinks, leaks and pipework in flats as well as houses. If you rent, or the pipe may serve other flats too, check with your landlord or managing agent before you book.
How do I check a plumber before I book?
Ask for a written quote after they've seen the job, look the company up on Companies House, where its registered address and date of incorporation are free to see, read its reviews and ask about insurance. You can look us up on Companies House and ask about our insurance too.
When the job is bigger than a plumbing repair
A new bathroom: bathroom fitters.
A new kitchen, or a sink moved: kitchen fitters.
A ceiling or wall the water damaged: plastering, once the leak is fixed and the plaster has dried.
Water coming in from the roof, not the pipes: roof repairs.
Plumbing within a bigger project: home renovations.
Electrical work alongside it: electricians.
