Roofing services for houses and flats: repair, replace or maintain
Most roof jobs are one of three kinds of work, each with its own page:
Repairs
Leaks, flashings (the lead or mortar seals where the roof meets a wall or chimney) and chimneys: roof repairs. Broken or loose tiles, and ridge tiles (the row along the top of the roof): tiled roof repairs. Slipped or cracked slates: slate roofers.
Re-covering or replacement
Flat roofs over extensions: flat roofing. Lead or zinc over bays, porches and dormers: metal roofing. Felt or sheeted garages: garage roof replacement. Fascias (the boards along the eaves, the lower edge of the roof, that carry the gutter) and soffits (the boards that close the underside of the eaves): fascia and soffit replacement.
Maintenance
Leaking joints, sagging runs and blocked downpipes: gutter repair. Moss and lichen on tiles and slates: roof cleaning.
For blocks of flats, shops, offices, churches and gyms, see commercial roofing.
Choosing local roofers you can check
One quote for the roof and the room below
A leak rarely stops at the tiles: once the roof has dried out, our own team plasters and repaints the stained ceiling (see plastering).
A company you can look up
When you compare roofing companies in London, check them. We were registered at Companies House (number 06178781) on 22 March 2007. We're on Checkatrade, verified on MyBuilder and insured for £5 million public liability.

The inside put right
If water has marked a ceiling, our own team makes it good and repaints it once it has dried out.
What sets the price of a roofing job
We price each roof after seeing it. What changes the cost:
The kind of work
a repair, re-covering one slope or a whole new roof.
Size and pitch
how much roof there is and how steep it is.
The covering
whether tiles or slates can be matched, or the material changes.
Reaching it
the higher or steeper the roof, the more likely it needs a tower or full scaffold, and scaffolding over the pavement can need a council licence.
The inside
a stained or damaged ceiling to repair and repaint.
Request a callback
A bigger job can also need Building Regulations approval, depending on how much of the roof is affected and what changes.

Questions people ask before booking a roofer
Call 020 8249 7303
Do you take on emergency roof repairs?
No. We plan each roof job after a free visit, so we don't offer emergency or same-day call-outs. If rain is coming in, catch the water, move what you can out of its way and take photos for your insurer; then we can quote for the roof and the ceiling below.
Can you repair the roof of a flat?
Yes. In a block, the roof is often a shared part, so the building's freeholder or managing agent may need to agree the work.
Should I repair my roof or replace it?
It depends on how much of the roof is failing. One leak or a few broken tiles is a repair, while widespread slipping across a slope usually points to re-covering that slope. We tell you which after seeing the roof.
How do I check roofing contractors before hiring one?
Beyond Companies House and proof of public liability insurance, look at what the written quote says about the roof itself: what will be repaired or replaced, how the roof will be reached (ladder, tower or scaffold) and whether a scaffold licence is needed.
Which areas do you cover?
South East London, within about 20 miles of Beckenham. For larger jobs we're open to enquiries from across the South East of England.
