Privacy policy
What personal information this website collects, why we use it, who we share it with and what your rights are.
Who we are
The controller of your personal information is Andrews Building & Decorating Services Ltd. We are registered at Companies House with company number 06178781. Our registered office is 78 Beckenham Road, Beckenham BR3 4RH.
You can call us on 020 8249 7303 with any question about your personal information. You can also email us at [email protected].
What we collect and where it comes from
When you ask for a quote with our form, we collect:
- your name
- your phone number
- your email address, if you give it
- your postcode
- the service you are interested in and the type of property, if you choose them
- your message
- how you would like us to contact you
- any photos or plans you attach
When you ask for one of our checklists, we collect your name, your email address and which checklist you asked for.
With each form we also record the page you sent it from and, if you reached the website through a link with campaign tags (UTM tags or a Google Ads click identifier), those tags. We use your IP address to limit repeated submissions: it is held in the server's memory for up to 10 minutes and is not stored with your enquiry.
When you phone us, we receive your phone number and whatever you choose to tell us.
Please do not include information about your health or other sensitive details in your message or photos. We do not ask for it and we do not need it to quote for your job.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote. This is a step you ask us to take before entering into a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- To carry out and administer the work if you go ahead. This is necessary for our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)).
- To send you a checklist you asked for. This is necessary to provide what you requested (Article 6(1)(b)).
- To keep the records we must keep for accounting and tax. This is a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
- To protect our forms from spam and abuse. This is in our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and usable (Article 6(1)(f)).
- To understand how the website is used through analytics cookies, only if you accept them. This is based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not send marketing emails to people who use these forms.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run this website for us, who process it on our instructions:
- Vercel Inc., which hosts the website, including the photos and plans you upload (Vercel privacy policy).
- Turso, which hosts the database that holds enquiries (Turso privacy policy).
- Cloudflare, Inc., when a form shows a security check (Cloudflare Turnstile). It receives technical information from your browser, such as your IP address, to tell people from automated spam (Cloudflare privacy policy).
- Google LLC, only if you accept analytics cookies (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager) (Google privacy policy).
International transfers
Some of these providers, including Vercel, Cloudflare and Google, may process personal information in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (the UK-US data bridge).
How long we keep it
- If you become a customer: as long as we need your details to do the job and to meet our accounting and tax obligations.
- A checklist request: as long as we need to send you the checklist and answer any questions about it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct it
- ask us to delete it
- ask us to limit how we use it
- object to how we use it
- ask us to transfer it to you or to another organisation, where this applies
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent
If this website uses analytics, you can change your cookie choice at any time with the Cookie settings button at the bottom of every page.
To use any of these rights, call us on 020 8249 7303. You can also write to us at our registered office. Our email address is [email protected]. We will reply within one month, as the law requires.
If you are unhappy with how we have used your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
How we keep it secure
The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Each photo or plan you upload is stored at its own long, unlisted web address that is not published or linked anywhere on the website, and only our administrator accounts can find it, through the website's system. Anyone who had that exact address may be able to open the file, so please do not upload anything you would not want others to see. In the website's system, only our administrator accounts can see enquiries; each enquiry is also emailed to the people at the company who handle it.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the website or the way we use personal information changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. For the cookies this website uses, see our cookie policy.
